Crossroads Community Hub

We helped Crossroads Community Hub navigate complex governance and financial challenges between its parent charity and trading subsidiary.

Supporting Crossroads Community Hub Through a Key Transition

We were proud to support Crossroads Community Hub (trading as Ayrshire Food Hub) during a pivotal stage in its development.

Our work focused on helping the organisation navigate complex governance and financial challenges between its parent charity and trading subsidiary.

About Crossroads Community Hub

Following the closure and demolition of Crossroads Primary School, Crossroads Community Hub (CCH) was established as a company in 2011. Its objectives are to improve the quality of life for local people and help build a sustainable rural community. They aim to support and promote lifelong learning opportunities, as well as all aspects of health, well-being, recreation, and social cohesion.

What we did

Our collaboration with Crossroads Community Hub initiated through a referral from the Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS), highlights the crucial role DTAS plays in connecting development trusts with the specialist support they need to succeed.

Drawing on our extensive experience in social enterprise and community business, we provided tailored advice on governance structures, financial management, and sustainable trading strategies for the café, farm shop, and bakery.

Our support reflects a broader commitment to helping Development Trusts manage change and realise their long-term ambitions. This goes beyond funding to equip communities with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build resilient, thriving local enterprises.

What’s next for Crossroads Community Hub

As a result of our support, CCH secured a place on LaunchMe, Firstport’s investment readiness programme. As part of the current cohort, CCH will gain access to professional expertise and bespoke advice to secure investment and pursue the plans that emerged from our support.
